Pistachio Loaf with Drippy Icing—wishing you a very merry, and a happy, happy!

It’s Christmas Eve and there is a feeling of beauty and magic and holiday all round.

Everyone seems to be on vacation from work with the busy-ness of last-minute shopping, family get-togethers, nights in front of the fire, holiday soirees, lingering dinners, and family traditions.

And while on the topic of holidays and celebrations, I am a little wistful for festive cheer and fairy lights and snow and a trip to Paris (ah, yes!), but most of all, mistletoe.

Orange Almond and Yogurt Loaf—light, moist, and deliciously moreish

It’s that time of the year again.

Christmas is around the corner, and the clock is ticking down hurriedly to a whole new exciting year.

The festive season is always a special and memorable time. It brings family and friends together with rituals and traditions, sparkle and magic, gifts and fun and food.

Speedy Berry Cheesecake in a Glass — impressive and very moreish

Last few days have been most amazing. I was lost in the utter romance of beautiful happenings — walks along the coast enjoying this fleetingly exquisite weather, reconnecting with friends after far too long, hot chocolates and scrumptious faloodas, and most exciting of all, receiving the best news of the year that I’m officially back to the corporate world. Ha.

And since December began, it’s been early morning rush and traffic jams, high heels, pink lipsticks, delicate blouses, meetings and spreadsheets, and of course, the overwhelming excitement of new beginnings, and much to look forward to.

Happy December! Happy holidays! And a happy year-before!

Eggless, No Bake, Mini Mango Cheesecakes

A stroll about the fruit markets with its sweet, tempting display of summer produce in a rainbow of fresh flavors, I have a feeling I’ll be preparing and sharing dainty desserts all summer long.

Of all the wonderful things that summer brings, I look forward so much to the mango festival happening at the local stores around here at this time of the year—sweet, sweet excuse to indulge in a variety of luscious goodness. There are few things quite like the flavor and scent of Alphonso, Rajpuri and Badami at the peak of their season. I just can’t stop picking them, and the result is an ever-inspiring list of mango dishes, though nothing compares to eating them whole, I admit.

Blueberry Banana and Cream

Usually my mind is whirling with a million seems-so-brilliant ideas, and I’m brimming with inspiration to put them into action.

And yet, there are those times when no matter how much I scout around, inspiration is elusive. Today is one such day, unfortunately.

Not even the promise of rain gets me in the mood. There’s this impending sense of loom I’m not able to shake away. My gut feeling tells me to pause, slow down the pace, take it down a notch.

Nutella Lava Mug Cake

There’s an air of expectation in February, and everyone else is joining in the celebration. For Valentine’s day, that is.

I’ve always considered Valentine’s as a holiday for kids, particularly teenagers, than for adults. Just the same, I was inspired to share in the moment with a special recipe—a treat for your sweetie, or your own sweet self.

Keeping up with romantic spirits, this special occasion deserves nothing less than a luscious dessert. With chocolate, of course—the aphrodisiac and quintessential Valentine’s treat.

Plateful is One! And I Say Thank You With This Intensely Chocolaty Mini Hazelnut Brownie Cake!

It has been one year ho! Quite the year indeed.

Full of surprises, full of promises, full of discoveries. And, dotted with beautiful memories all along. One full, charming year since the debut of Plateful. Yes, it is Plateful’s first birthday, er, anniversary—whatever.

The journey has been exhilarating, challenging, educational, to say the least. Somewhere along the route all this recipe sharing, prop hunting, styling and framing for photography, and the communal joy of connectivity gathered momentum and became my way of life. A guilty pleasure. All thanks to you.

No-bake Cheesecake

Aha! Something sweet for the soul! Desserts are my weakness. I mean real, real weakness. From luscious cake indulgence to luxurious ice creams, with or without a meal, I’m game for almost anything sweet.

Personally, I think a beautiful cake adds zest to any celebration. I made these cheesecakes to get into the festive mood. This easy to prepare, no-bake cheesecake, takes the stress out of baking a classic version. Trust me. The crunchiness of the biscuits works beautifully with the delicious melt in the mouth creamy texture. Come on, wow your family and friends at your next get-together by serving this on its own as a treat, or as a dessert to end the meal.
