4 Delicious Lemonade Variations for Summer

The world is gripped by the football fever.

And, Middle East? Summer fever!

No kidding.

We are sizziling with temperatures hitting record levels as early as June. Haven’t seen this much heat and humidity so far in the beginning of summer. The peak season is usually July-August.

It’s simply hot, humid and hazy.  With temperatures soaring to the 50s, staying hydrated is vital.

Sparkling Apple Lemonade—pretty pink summer cooler

Sun-kissed sand, sparkling sea, bright beautiful days, golden warmth, umbrellaed drinks, and the scent of sweet blossoms.

We are headstrong into summer, ha.

The sun is shining, birds are singing, and everything seems more vibrant, more hopeful.

And on this beautiful Wednesday afternoon, I sit by the window sipping on a bottle of lemonade, soaking in the charms of the season, lost in profound thoughts of things to do.

Minty Ginger Granny Smith — crisp, sassy, vibrant fall flavors

Fall is a treasure.

I’ve been enjoying invigorating strolls along the palm-fringed Doha promenade, delighting in the bracing sea air and the enchanting turquoise waters of the bay.

There is so much charm in lazing along the stretch of the corniche observing a mix of cultural traditions, urban sophistication and multiculturalism—all this amidst quite scenic settings. I can spend hours here taking in the views, watching people, the array of docked boats,  reflection of  sparkling city lights on the calm waters when the darkness falls.

Or, perhaps, simply lost in the beauty of thoughts.

Apple Jelly Pudding With Caramelized Cashew Nuts

January 5. Yesterday. It was my baby’s birthday. He’s such a bundle of joy and we are so blessed. It’s hard to believe my boy is so grown up, he’s going to tower over me soon!

I’m going to round off this eventful week with a sweet sensation. I tasted this dish at one of our regular potluck get-together with friends. One of my friend had cooked apple pudding topped with caramelized cashews for dessert. The pudding tasted like a vanilla flavored gelatin and the crunchiness of the caramelized cashews gave body to the dessert. It was light and tasty, and I liked it. In fact, everyone liked it a lot. So I got the recipe and made it at home. Twice. It tasted just as good.
